I Need a Haircut.

I need new glasses... and for my essay to write itself.

While browsing the internet (procrastinating) and looking for some new frames, I discovered my possible future glasses but more importantly, I discovered where Elijah Wood has been hiding. He's being modeling for Oliver Peoples' SS10 campaign.
I wish he came out from under his rock more often, because Elijah Wood has always been one of my favorites. My sister and I used to internet stalk him and we had the biggest picture gallery ever (all Elijah), it literally took up all the space on our Hard-drive... that's totally normal, right?!

Tim Burton

I really, really want to go see the Tim Burton Retrospective exhibit at the Moma. Fingers crossed I find myself in New York between now and April.

Pakistan Fashion Week

I've typed and retyped this entry. I don't really know what else to say other than Pakistan fashion week was one of the most underrated and inspirational fashion moments of the year. Despite Taliban threats, the country's first ever fashion week took place in Karachi, Pakistan from Nov 4 - Nov 7. While Canadian designers risked a lot to present their collections in the current economy, Pakistani designers literally risked their lives in a country torn by the Taliban. The shows were about more than fashion, they were about the freedom of expression and the obvious rejection of oppression. The tattooed models strutted down runways last week in belly baring blouses, single shouldered dresses and high heels. It was definitely a strut in the right direction.
